SA Grown branded produce was officially launched in Foodland retail stores in conjunction with Adelaide Plains producers and the Virginia Horticulture Centre on 26^th April 2006.

The SA Grown brand was borne out of a need for giving consumers a choice for purchasing easily recognisable South Australian grown fresh produce.

Any producer of South Australian fresh produce has the opportunity to utilise this brand as a support to their own branding.

This brand been developed and is owned by the Virginia Horticulture Centre. To utilise the brand growers/ producers must sign and adhere to a licence agreement and regular audits.

SA Grown is a brand only available for use by growers of fully certifiable South Australian Produce.

It is imperative for growers wishing to use the SA Grown brand to agree to and sign a License Agreement which addresses the following points:

Maintenance and currency of Quality Assurance Systems including full
Traceability of all branded products.

Licensee’s Licensed Property as the sole supplier for the brand

Chemical registrations

Product & Public Liability Requirements for Licensees

SA Grown Audits when required.

Penalties for non compliance.
